Electromechanical centre-clamping vises

Electromechanical centering clamps offer the advantage over hydraulically or pneumatically operated self-centering machine vises of effectively reducing energy consumption during the clamping process.

Only when closing, opening or regulatingthe required clamping force, the electromechanical centering vise consumes energy.

Electromechanical centeric clamps are self-locking, so the workpieces to be machined are clamped securely even if the drive system fails. Furthermore, electromechanical centeric clamps can be programmed so that the clamping force increases or decreases depending on the type of workpiece machining. For example, a delicate workpiece can be securely fixed with maximum clamping force without deformation taking place. Maintenance costs incurred by hydraulic or pneumatic drives are eliminated and operational safety is increased, since there is no danger of leaking hydraulic oil, for example.

Electromechanical centre-clamping vises are suitable for both workpiece automation and pallet automation.

Electromechanical centre-clamping vises
Due to the electric operation of this centre-clamping vise series the clamping process can be shortened or completely automated by the use of industrial robots. Energy-efficient production – that is the trend in mechanical engineering. To optimize the manufacturing environment it is seeked to replace fluid-driven components within the machine tool or production system by electromechanical components. Electromechanical components are more energy efficient than pneumatically or hydraulically operated systems. In the field of workpiece clamping technology electrically driven compressors or aggregates had to generate so far air or oil pressure continuously to hold or clamp workpieces during machining securely. Electromechanical centre-clamping vises require only energy when fixing or loosening the workpiece. Pneumatic and hydraulic clamping technology is still justified, however, electromechanical systems open up opportunities, which can bring the user significant advantages.
